Plane crashes in Iran, killing 168

TEHRAN, Iran (CNN) - A passenger plane crashed Wednesday in northwestern Iran, killing all 168 aboard, according to Iran's government-owned Press TV.

Ten members of the country's youth judo team were aboard the plane, according to Tabnak, a Web site associated with opposition politician Mohsen Rezaie.

The plane "disintegrated into pieces," said Col. Masood Jafari Nasab, security commander of the city of Qazvin.

Video of the crash site showed a huge crater in the earth scattered with charred pieces of the plane and tattered passports.
