ACCRA, Ghana (CNN) - U.S. President Barack Obama, speaking to Ghana's parliament Saturday, said "Africa's future is up to Africans," and stressed the importance of mutual responsibility and respect between that continent and other nations. "I do not see the countries and peoples of Africa as a world apart; I see Africa as a fundamental part of our interconnected world," Obama said. The president, his wife, Michelle, and their two daughters arrived in Ghana from Italy on Friday night for his first visit to sub-Saharan Africa since taking office. |
