New York Philharmonic sends delegation to CubaPosted: 05:30 PM ET
By Jesse Solomon The Philharmonic "has started working closely with the Ministry of Culture, the Cuban Interests Section in Washington, and with key government officials to commence the planning process for these proposed concerts," an orchestra news release said. New York Philharmonic officials visiting Havana over the weekend will be exploring "logistical issues such as identifying an appropriate venue for the concerts, travel and lodging logistics, and the possibility of educational opportunities," the news release said. Alan Gilbert, the Philharmonic's new musical director, will conduct the Havana concerts. |
