New York Philharmonic invited to play in CubaPosted: 11:35 PM ET
NEW YORK (CNN) - The New York Philharmonic has been invited to perform in Havana, Cuba, according to a document obtained by CNN. Cuba's Ministry of Culture extended the invitation and the orchestra has been working with the ministry, the Cuban Interests Section in Washington and U.S. government officials to schedule the performance. Last year, the famed orchestra played in Pyongyang, North Korea, in the first performance by a U.S. orchestra in that country. |
