Powerful storms damage, knock out power in OklahomaPosted: 05:00 AM ET
By Janet DiGiacomo (CNN) - A series of storms ripped off rooftops, downed trees and knocked out power in parts of Oklahoma on Saturday night and early Sunday. The towns of Enid, Kremlin and Hillsdale were hardest hit, authorities said. The first storm hit about 10 p.m. (11 p.m. ET), forcing more than 300 vendors at an expo center in Enid to take cover, said Rochelle Honigsberg, a deputy emergency management director in Garfield County. The building along with cars and trailers in the parking lot were damaged, she said. A mobile home park in northern Enid was hit too, but there are no reports of fatalities or serious injuries, she added. Honigsberg said officials are waiting for daylight to get a better idea as to how much damage these storms caused. |
