1 dead, 1 critical in occupied West Bank attack

JERUSALEM (CNN) - A suspected Palestinian attacked two people in the occupied West Bank Thursday with a "sharp object," killing a 13-year-old and seriously wounding a 7-year-old child, authorities said.

The attack occurred in the settlement of Bat Ayin, south of Bethlehem.

Authorities were looking for the attacker. Residents were asked to stay indoors.

The Jerusalem Post newspaper said the attacker was wielding an axe.
