U.N.: At least 640 killed in Israeli military operation in Gaza

GAZA CITY, Gaza (CNN) - At least 640 people in Gaza have been killed in the ongoing Israeli military operation in the Palestinian territory, the United Nations said, citing the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
Of those deaths, approximately 30 percent are women and children, according to the U.N.'s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), citing the ministry's statistics released on Tuesday.
Another 2,800 have been injured since the operation began on December 27, according to the data.  Approximately 45 percent of the injured are women and children.
