Navy reviewing status of pilot missing since 1991Posted: 08:45 PM ET
From Mike Mount WASHINGTON (CNN) - A U.S. Navy review board met Monday to examine the most recent information and determine the status of a pilot lost over Iraq in the open days of the 1991 Gulf War whose remains were never found, according to U.S. Navy officials. The family of Capt. Michael Scott Speicher was told in September a review board would examine the latest intelligence report on the missing pilot and determine whether his status of "missing-captured" should be changed. The board meeting is expected to last up to four days while Navy officials review the latest evidence in a building just steps from the Pentagon. Members of the Speicher family are in Washington to hear what the board has to say. |
