(CNN) — Asian and Pacific markets traded up early Tuesday as a stronger dollar made export-related stocks favorable to investors. South Korea’s KOSPI index was up 2.35 percent in early trading, and Australia’s All Ordinaries index rose 1.65 percent. Tokyo’s Nikkei index was up 1.16 percent, and the Shanghai Composite index rose .75 percent. The markets also rallied on Monday, but U.S. stocks fell, retreating after last week’s big rally as investors digested President-elect Barack Obama’s stimulus plan, monthly auto sales and surging oil prices. |
