BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) — A car bomb exploded in northwestern Baghdad Thursday morning, killing four people and wounding 26, an Interior Ministry official said.

The attack took place in the Shula neighborhood and targeted a popular restaurant, according to the official.

The U.S. military issued a statement on the incident and reported different numbers — one local citizen dead and at least 21 wounded. It said a police officer was among the injured.

Elsewhere, more than 20 miles northeast of Baquba in Diyala province, a suicide car bomb targeting coalition forces injured seven local residents, the U.S. military said.
