Car bombs detonated in IraqPosted: 10:51 AM ET
BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) - A car bomb exploded in northwestern Baghdad Thursday morning, killing four people and wounding 26, an Interior Ministry official said. The attack took place in the Shula neighborhood and targeted a popular restaurant, according to the official. The U.S. military issued a statement on the incident and reported different numbers - one local citizen dead and at least 21 wounded. It said a police officer was among the injured. Elsewhere, more than 20 miles northeast of Baquba in Diyala province, a suicide car bomb targeting coalition forces injured seven local residents, the U.S. military said. |
