Police: Def Jam executive killed himselfPosted: 07:18 PM ET
ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) - A Def Jam music executive and successor to hip-hop mogul Jay-Z died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, authorities said. Police found Shakir Stewart, 34, shot dead in the bathroom of his suburban Atlanta, Georgia, home on Saturday after receiving a 911 call from a friend outside Stewart's home at the time of the shooting, said police spokesman Dana Pierce. He was taken to Kennestone Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Stewart died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, according to the coroner. Toxicology reports are pending. |
