NATO troops kill 20 insurgents in AfghanistanPosted: 02:04 AM ET
KABUL, Afghanistan (CNN) - The NATO-led force in Afghanistan killed more than 20 insurgents during two days of fighting in the Wardak province, the force said Monday. Soldiers with the International Security Assistance Force conducted an air assault in the Jalrez district of the Wardak province, located west of Kabul. The soldiers were attacked with small-arms fire, rocket-propelled grenades and rockets, the NATO-led force said in a statement. Two days of fighting resulted in more than 20 insurgents killed but no deaths among the NATO-led force, the statement said. |
