35-year-old MBA gets newly created 'financial stability' job

CNN) - Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson, Jr., on Monday designated Neel Kashkari as the interim assistant secretary of the Treasury for financial stability.

The 35-year-old MBA in finance from the Wharton School will oversee the Office of Financial Stability, including the Troubled Asset Relief Program.

The position was created with last week's passage of the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008.
Kashkari (cosh-KAR-ee) is currently assistant secretary of the Treasury for international economics and development, responsible for developing and executing policies for the department "to foster a more conducive investment climate" for the United States and to support global economic growth.
