Kenyan police arrest maritime expert

(CNN) - Kenyan police have detained for questioning a maritime expert who said that arms aboard a Ukrainian ship seized by pirates were headed to Sudan, and not Kenya.

Andrew Mwangura of the Kenya-based Seafarers Assistance Programme has been a key advocate for merchant sailors and have been instrumental in disseminating information to media outlets about pirate attacks.

In the past, he has shared information about hijacked ship and ransom payments.
