15 injured in Jerusalem

JERUSALEM (CNN) - Up to 15 people were injured at an intersection in Jerusalem Monday night when a driver of a car plowed into a group of people, Jerusalem police told CNN.

The driver was shot and killed at the scene, police said. The driver was not immediately identified, but authorities said he was an Arab.

The incident happened about 11 p.m. (4 p.m. ET) at an intersection heavy with pedestrian traffic in central Jerusalem, between the Jewish and Arab sections, near the Old City and the Jaffe Gate.

Authorities said two victims were seriously injured.
