Death toll climbs to 128 in ChinaPosted: 11:36 PM ET
BEIJING, China (CNN) – The death toll has risen to 128 after a mud and rock slide in northern China, the state-run Xinhua news agency reported Wednesday. Rescue workers continued digging to try to find an unknown number of people who remain trapped, the agency said. The deaths happened after torrential rain at the unlicensed Tashan Mine, which operated illegally in Xiangfen, a county in China's Shanxi Province, the state-run news agency said. |
