BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) — Attacks killed at least four people, including two police officers, and wounded five others in Iraq on Sunday, according to an Iraqi Interior Ministry official. Gunmen opened fire on a car carrying a family south of Baquba, killing a mother and father and wounding their young daughter, the official said. Two Iraqi police officers were killed and two others kidnapped when gunmen attacked their checkpoint in the Anbar province Sunday, the official said. In northern Iraq, an Iraqi Army officer and three civilians were wounded when a pickup loaded with explosives was detonated near a school for boys in the town of Qayyarah, in the Ninevah province, the U.S. military said. One of the wounded was a child, the military said. |
