Road rage draws car bomb victimsPosted: 03:32 AM ET
By CNN's Jomana Karadsheh BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) - A suicide car bomber apparently staged a traffic accident as a tactic to draw more victims into his blast Saturday, an attack that killed at least six and wounded 50 at an outdoor market in northern Iraq, an Iraqi Interior Ministry official said. The suicide attack happened around midday in the city of Tal Afar, about 45 miles (72 kilometers) west of Mosul, the official said. The bomber got into a traffic accident and began arguing with the driver of the other car, the official said. He detonated his car bomb as a crowd gathered around the shouting men, he said. Also Saturday, roadside bombs killed four people in Iraq's Diyala province and a high-ranking security official was wounded by a blast in Baghdad, the official said. |
