Bush says Gustav should prompt Congress to address drillingPosted: 10:23 AM ET
WASHINGTON (CNN) - President Bush said Tuesday that Hurricane Gustav should push Congress to approve more offshore oil drilling in the United States. "We need more domestic energy, not less," he told reporters just ahead of a briefing by top Cabinet members on the aftermath of the storm. The president noted that it was too early to tell whether Gustav - which came ashore in Louisiana Monday as a Category 2 hurricane - had damaged the U.S. oil infrastructure off the Gulf Coast. |
