(CNN) — Gustav’s top winds increased to 100 mph (155 km/hr) Saturday morning, making it a Category 2 storm as it approaches the western tip of Cuba, according to the National Hurricane Center in Miami. As of 2 a.m. ET Gustav was about 50 miles (85 kilometers) northeast of Grand Cayman and about 315 miles (500 km) east-southeast of the western tip of Cuba. Hurricane Gustav was moving northwest at about 12 mph on a path that should take it over the western tip of Cuba Saturday afternoon. |
