(CNN) — A study published Friday questioned the long-held assertion among public health professionals that flu vaccines save lives in older adults. Though a number of nonrandomized trials have concluded that older people who get the flu vaccine are about half as likely to die than are older people who do not get the shot, the University of Alberta Edmonton researchers reported that the finding might just be attributable to the “healthy user effect.” |
