Al Qaeda official issues eulogy in videoPosted: 10:16 AM ET
(CNN) - Al Qaeda's second-in-command appeared in a Web video on Friday, eulogizing a top militant and three associates killed last month in a U.S. airstrike in Pakistan. Ayman al-Zawahiri, dressed in white robes and a white turban, spoke in front of a green backdrop about one of the group's chemical weapon experts, Midhat Mursi al-Sayid Umar. Umar, also known as Sheikh Abu Khabbab al-Masri, was killed in Pakistan's tribal region. Umar was on the U.S. list of 37 wanted terrorists, and the United States had offered $5 million for information leading to his death or arrest. |
