Tsvangirai's passport, travel documents confiscated at Harare airportPosted: 09:53 AM ET
HARARE, Zimbabwe (CNN) - Zimbabwean authorities confiscated the passports and travel documents of opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai and two of his party officials Thursday at Harare International Airport, the opposition Movement for Democratic Change said. Tsvangirai and the officials had been on their way to Johannesburg, South Africa, for a regional summit at which the ongoing power-sharing talks in Zimbabwe are expected to be a major topic. South African diplomatic sources later told CNN the passports would be returned to Tsvangirai and the officials, enabling them to travel later in the day or on Friday. |
