HARARE, Zimbabwe (CNN) — Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe and opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai were apparently together Sunday with South African President Thabo Mbeki for another round of power-sharing negotiations. Tsvangirai, head of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), met first with Mbeki at a Harare location and appeared cheerful as he emerged. Tsvangirai returned to the location later Sunday morning, a short time after Mugabe arrived. “There is progress and keep on praying,” said MDC Secretary General Tendai Biti said earlier to reporters outside the meeting place. Sources close to the talks said the meetings would bring the political rivals face-to-face — the first meeting between the two since the talks began two weeks ago. |
