Baghdad bombs kill 2, hurt 17Posted: 04:28 AM ET
BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) - Three separate roadside bomb blasts killed two people and wounded 17 others in Baghdad Sunday, an interior ministry official said. One bomb exploded outside a bank in Kamaliya, a Shiite neighborhood in eastern Baghdad, about 8:30 a.m. It killed two people and wounded 10 others, the official said. Around the same time, a bomb targeting an Iraqi Army patrol exploded in east Baghdad's Zaiyuna district in east Baghdad, authorities said. The blast wounded two soldiers and two civilians. About two hours later, another bomb targeting an Iraqi army patrol went off over a bridge in Kadhimiya, another Shiite neighborhood in northwestern Baghdad. The blast wounded three soldiers, the official said. Meanwhile, two mortars struck the International Zone, the center of U.S. offices in Iraq, Sunday morning, the interior ministry said. |
