Third climber rescued after K2 avalanchePosted: 03:41 AM ET
(CNN) - An Italian climber who survived a deadly ice avalanche on the world's second highest mountain was plucked from the slopes and flown to safety Tuesday. Marco Confortola survived an ice avalanche that killed 11 climbers on K2, a mountain that rises near the Pakistan-China border. Two Dutch climbers who survived were flown to safety Monday, and Confortola was rescued on Tuesday, said Shahzad Qaiser, the Pakistani Ministry of Tourism's secretary told CNN. |
