Up to 20 dead, dozens hurt in western India blastsPosted: 12:34 PM ET
(CNN) - Up to 20 people were killed and dozens more wounded when 17 blasts rocked the western Indian city of Ahmedabad within 70 minutes Saturday night, police and government officials said. The explosions were mainly concentrated in the eastern part of the city, all within a 10-kilometer (6-mile) radius, according to CNN's sister network, CNN-IBN. The network said Nitin Patel, an urban development official for Gujarat state, which encompasses Ahmedabad, reported 15 people had died and 100 were injured. However, Ahmedabad police told CNN they had only confirmed about 15 blasts and said about 20 people had been killed and 56 people were injured. –CNN's Bharati Naik and S.
