(CNN) — At least 29 people were killed and dozens more wounded when 17 blasts rocked the western Indian city of Ahmedabad within 70 minutes Saturday night, government officials said. The explosions were mainly concentrated in the eastern part of the city, all within a 10-kilometer (6-mile) radius, according to CNN’s sister network, CNN-IBN. The network reported that 29 people were dead and more than 100 were injured, some seriously. Ahmedabad (prono: ah-MED-uh-bahd) police told CNN they could not immediately provide a number of fatalities, but said at least 62 people were injured and at local hospitals. |
