BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) — A truck bomb killed seven people, including six police officers, in a town north of Baghdad Sunday morning, police said.

Police said the bomb was remotely detonated when officers went to check on a small truck parked by the side of a road in Duluiyah, located about 75 km (45 miles) from Baghdad.

The explosion killed six officers and a member of the local Awakening Council, groups of anti-al Qaeda Sunni fighters who have turned against al Qaeda in Iraq, thus becoming their targets.
