Pro and anti-government forces clash in LebanonPosted: 03:36 AM ET
BEIRUT, Lebanon (CNN) - Clashes between pro- and anti-government forces in eastern Lebanon killed three people and wounded four others overnight, army sources told CNN. The two sides exchanged machine-gun and rocket-propelled grenade fire in the Bekka Valley towns of Saadnayel and Taalabaya before Lebanese soldiers stepped in around midnight. The clashes resumed after the soldiers withdrew, prompting their return a few hours later, the army said. |
