Iraq PM in Jordan for official visitPosted: 04:23 AM ET
BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) - Iraq's prime minister began an official two-day trip on Thursday to neighboring Jordan, his office said. He will meet with King Abdullah II and Prime Minister Nader al-Thahabi to discuss developing cooperation and bilateral ties with the Sunni Arab neighbor, one of main host countries for Iraqi refugees. Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki arrived in Amman with a delegation that includes various Cabinet ministers and officials from the political, security and economic spheres. The trip follows al-Maliki's three-day visit to Iran last week and a trip to Jordan by Tariq al-Hashimi, Iraq's Sunni vice president. |
