4 killed, insurgent hideout destroyed in northern Iraq

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) - Coalition troops in northern Iraq killed four suspected terrorists and destroyed an al Qaeda in Iraq hideout Thursday during a raid targeting a suicide bombing network, the U.S. military said.

The operation occurred north of Baquba, in Diyala province, where troops destroyed a site where weapons were stored. Troops found a "tunnel system, fighting positions, weapons, military-style assault vests and documents detailing terrorist operations."

Troops also made nine arrests Wednesday and Thursday in northern Iraq and Baghdad, the military said.
