Barak urges Olmert to step down amid corruption probePosted: 10:54 AM ET
JERUSALEM (CNN) - Embattled Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, under investigation for corruption, must step down from his position or face new elections, a leading member of his Cabinet said Wednesday. "I don't think the prime minister can run both the country and take care of his personal situation," said Defense Minister Ehud Barak. Barak is a former prime minister whose Labor party has a coalition with Olmert's Kadima party. |
