NEW YORK (CNN) — Three New Jersey parolees are the first to be charged under a new state law that makes it illegal for certain sex offenders to use the Internet for social networking, New Jersey State Police said Friday. The men had created profiles on MySpace and Facebook, according to Lt. Keith Halton, assistant chief of the state police’s Computer Crimes and High Tech Surveillance Bureau. It is unclear whether they had contacted any minors through the Web sites, he said. |
