Suspect reaches plea deal in death of NFL starPosted: 11:14 AM ET
MIAMI, Florida (CNN) - One of five suspects in the November death of NFL star Sean Taylor has entered into a plea deal with prosecutors, agreeing to serve 29 years in prison and testify against his co-defendants, his attorney told CNN. Venjah Hunte, 20, pleaded guilty last Friday to second-degree murder and burglary while armed, according to Michael Hornung, Hunte's defense attorney. The hearing was closed to everyone but Taylor's father, Pedro, Hornung said. Taylor, 24, a Washington Redskins player who was at home in Miami rehabilitating after a knee injury, died a day after he was shot during an apparent burglary at his home. |
