BOGOTA, Colombia (CNN) — Colombia did not tamper with computers or files it seized in a leftist rebel camp inside Ecuador, the international criminal police organization Interpol said Thursday. Colombia maintains that files found on the computers contain evidence that Venezuela and Ecuador were supporting the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC, an allegation rejected by the presidents of both countries. Interpol’s study of the three laptop computers, three USB thumb drives and two external hard disks taken in the March 1 raid was forensic, and did not include analysis of content, the 186-nation organization said. However, Interpol Secretary General Ronald Noble said Thursday that the organization is “absolutely certain” that the materials came from a FARC camp. |
