Official: Suspect in custody in connection with wildfire investigation

PALM BAY, Florida (CNN) - A suspect is in custody in connection with an arson investigation into the wildfires that have scorched about 10,000 acres in Brevard County, Florida, the Palm Bay city manager told CNN Wednesday.

The man was arrested Wednesday morning shortly after police released a photograph of a "person of interest" to the public, city manager Lee Feldman told CNN's "Newsroom."

A statement from the city of Palm Bay identified the man as Brian Crowder, 31, who "has a lengthy criminal history and an active warrant for violation of probation."
