Rain falls on southern Myanmar villages still waiting for aidPosted: 10:03 AM ET
YANGON, Myanmar (CNN) - Torrential rains fell again in parts of Southern Mayanmar Monday, an area desperately in need of more international aid and less rain. Though Myanmar government officials had recently allowed the international community to bring aid to the cyclone-ravaged country, it was unclear when that aid would reach some of the villages in southern Mayanmar. The first U.S. plane loaded with relief supplies landed Monday in the cyclone-ravaged country. Monday, more than a week after the cyclone struck, there were villages in the low-lying delta southern area of the country that were still in dire need, observed a CNN correspondent who is in Myanmar. |
