BEIJING, China (CNN) — China’s “leading research and breeding base for endangered giant pandas” had all its communication cut off by Monday’s earthquake, state-run news agency Xinhua reported. The Wolong Giant Panda Protection and Research Center is in Sichuan Province. About 130 giant pandas are living in the center and another 150 wild pandas are on the Wolong reserve, Xinhua said. |
