(CNN) — A train carrying 264 passengers en route from Vancouver to Toronto was halted and quarantined in northern Ontario Thursday after a passenger died and six others complained of feeling sick, a spokeswoman for Via Rail told CNN. Via Rail Train Number 2 was stopped “for medical reasons” in Foleyet, Ontario, said rail spokeswoman Ashley Doyle. In addition to the fatality, one of the six who reported not feeling well was airlifted to Timmins and District Hospital in Ontario, she said. The condition of that patient, a woman, was determined to be not serious, Doyle said. |
