(CNN) — Widespread power outages hit various states in Venezuela Tuesday, an official said. “It’s affecting quite a few areas of the country,” said Luis Diaz Curvelo, national director of civil protection, in a telephone interview with Globovision Television. Blacked-out areas include parts of the capital city of Caracas and the states of Zulia, Lara, Carbobo, Yaracuy, Portuguesa, Miranda, Falcon, Merida, Aragua, Bolivar and Tachira, the station said. There was no immediate report of the cause. |
