Severe weather wreaks havoc in southeastern VirginiaPosted: 07:32 PM ET
(CNN) - Virginia officials said more than 200 people were injured as severe storms swept across the southeastern part of the state Monday, leaving the governor to declare a state of emergency. At least 200 people were injured in Suffolk when a tornado destroyed several homes and businesses, Bob Spieldenner of the Virginia Department of Emergency Management told CNN. The storm hit the 138-bed Sentara Obici Hospital, though he said the facility was still operational and accepting patients. |
