Strike begins at key British oil refineryPosted: 03:44 AM ET
LONDON, England (CNN) - Workers at a British refinery walked off the job Sunday in a strike over pensions, forcing the shutdown of a major North Sea pipeline. The Grangemouth refinery, west of Edinburgh, is owned by Ineos and serves BP's Forties Pipeline. The pipeline brings about 725,000 barrels of crude oil to the mainland from the North Sea. "We are reliant on receiving power from Ineos," A BP spokesman said. "We are hoping to have power restored when utilities from the Ineos Grangemouth site are back online". |
