(CNN) - A northbound Amtrak train struck three people on Thursday, killing one, just north of a Providence, Rhode Island station, Amtrak reported. Two of the victims hit by the Amtrak Acela No. 2154 at about 1:15 p.m. were employees and another was a contractor inspecting tracks in the area. The identities of the victims and details about the accident were not immediately released. Amtrak spokeswoman Karina Romero said the 162 passengers on the train were not injured in the incident. |
