Obama tops national polls - with electability a factorPosted: 08:38 PM ET
From CNN chief political analyst Bill Schneider WASHINGTON (CNN) - A set of newly-released national opinion polls show Sen. Barack Obama holding what appears to be a solid lead over rival Sen. Hillary Clinton among Democrats - with voters of all stripes saying they think he has a better chance than Clinton of winning in November. Averaging the three polls, conducted from Feb. 20-24, 50 percent of Democrats said they support Obama, compared to 40 percent for Clinton. Another 10 percent said they remain undecided. Those same voters seem to have anointed the Illinois senator as the frontrunner in the Democratic race. In two of the polls, about 70 percent of Democrats said they think Obama will get their party's nomination. |
