Navy plane crashes near Guam; pilot, 3 crew members survive

(CNN) - A Navy plane crashed in the waters near Guam on Tuesday,
authorities said.

The pilot and three crew members ejected and parachuted into the Pacific
Ocean, said Cmdr. Jensin Sommer, a spokeswoman for the USS Kitty Hawk Carrier
Strike Group.

The four were taken to a hospital in "fairly good condition" at a Navy
hospital in Guam, she said.

Their EA-6B Prowler, which seats a crew of four, was on a routine
training mission when it encountered problems. The Navy has started an
investigation into the cause of the wreck.
