Denmark arrests several people apparently targeting cartoonist who drew Prophet Muhammed

(CNN) - Danish authorities have arrested several people who allegedly
were plotting a "terror-related assassination."

Government officials declined to say who the men were targeting, but a
Danish newspaper said the target was their cartoonist - one of 12 illustrators
behind the Prophet Muhammad drawings that spawned rage in the Muslim world two
years ago.

Police in Denmark confirmed the arrests to CNN but did not want to
provide details, saying that the intelligence service was handling the
investigation.

The Danish Security and Intelligence Service released a statement that
said a counter-terrorism operation was carried out in the Arhus area of western
Denmark about 4:30 a.m. to prevent "a terror related assassination."
