Karachi blast kills 6Posted: 12:54 PM ET
(CNN) - Six people died and nine were seriously wounded when a bomb detonated Monday in a Karachi market in southern Pakistan, police said. A motorcycle was likely being used to transport the 1.5 kg device, which was packed with ball bearings and bullets, when it exploded, said Mohammad Munir Ahmed Shaikh, Karachi's sub-inspector of police. The bomb, which went off about 8 p.m. (10 a.m. ET) among fruit and vegetable stalls in the city's Quaidabad section, appeared to have gone off prematurely, he said. |
